  • BSc (Hon) in Physiotherapy (Ireland)
    Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Trained

Jia Zhi obtained her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy from Trinity College Dublin and started her professional career at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2012. She has worked in all the various clinical teams before specialising in treating patients with musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain. After five years, she came out to the private sector and has worked in two different clinics, with one being a Pilates-focused physiotherapy clinic. While there, she developed a strong interest in teaching Pilates to assist in rehabilitation. Being Polestar Pilates rehabilitation trained, she often incorporates Pilates exercises into her treatment session to help her patients achieve a stronger and pain-free body.

With more than 11 years of experience working with different types of patients ranging from adolescents to the elderly, and from high-performance to recreational athletes, Jia Zhi realised that they often present with movement and breathing dysfunctions that they are not aware of. Being an ex-competitive netball player herself, she also completely understands that no matter how minor an injury is, it will affect one’s performance during a game and increase the chances of re-injury if not properly rehabilitated. As such, Jia Zhi strongly believes in building mind and body awareness along with postural control and breathing patterns in her patients, perfectly incorporating her understanding of physiotherapy with Pilates.

In her spare time, she finds joy in her Pilates practice, spending time with animals, and seeing different parts of the world through travel.

    Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Certified (UK)
Dr Vodder School of Lymphedema Certified
ILWTI Wound Management & Complete Decongestive Therapy Certified

Claire is a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist with over a decade of expertise since graduating in 2012. Her journey began with a brief period in private practice within a physiotherapy & Pilates setting. After her undergraduate studies, she worked in Singapore General Hospital, where she honed her skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She then transitioned to Sengkang General Hospital when it first opened its doors in 2015. This presented her with the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of a new healthcare institution.

In 2018, Claire achieved a significant milestone by obtaining her clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT). This advanced degree has allowed her to broaden her horizons and become a first-contact practitioner, a role she could practice at Sengkang General Hospital (SKH). During her time at SKH, Claire was a key member of the STAR (Spine Triage) clinic, where patients had the opportunity to see a physiotherapist first to quickly manage their pain, reducing the long waiting time to see a spine surgeon in the public hospital. Her expertise and dedication in this role significantly improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.

During her DPT studies, Claire also became lymphedema trained and certified. Upon her return, she initiated the lymphedema service at SKH, where she has been running a multidisciplinary clinic in collaboration with the plastic surgery department. This partnership ensures timely care for both acute and chronic patients, enhancing their quality of life.

In addition to her physiotherapy expertise, Claire is also Pilates-trained and certified. Her journey with Pilates began in 2005 as an adjunct to ballet and she formally started her Pilates training in 2009, alongside her undergraduate studies. In 2012, Claire completed her examination in London, UK, attaining her Polestar Pilates (Rehab) certification.

She is a member of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association, International Association of Dance Science & Medicine (IADMS), Performing Arts Medicine (PAM) Special Interest Group in Singapore, as well as a member of the Lymphedema Society of Singapore.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Claire is passionate about working with performing artists to educate and empower them about injury prevention and supplemental training. She has given talks and workshops at NUS Dance, YST Conservatory of Music, and SAF Bands, to name a few. Most importantly, she is a full-time mum to 4 young kids, who are her pride and joy.

  • Ji Long developed an early interest in exercise and movement, starting Taekwondo at age 9. He quickly appreciated how crucial form and technique are for performance and preventing injuries. While working towards his 2nd Dan black belt in Taekwondo, he delved deeper into the world of movement, sparking his fascination with the musculoskeletal system and kinesiology. A knee injury requiring surgery further motivated him to help others achieve their mobility goals and prevent similar injuries.

Determined to achieve these goals, Ji Long earned a spot in the highly sought-after pioneer cohort of the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Degree with Honours in Physiotherapy programme, securing a sponsorship for his studies. After graduating, he spent three years at one of Singapore's top hospitals, treating a wide range of conditions and gaining extensive experience in rehabilitation, orthopaedics, and plastic reconstruction. These experiences, coupled with his own dedication to learning, allowed Ji Long to provide high-quality holistic care to his patients. His commitment to excellent patient care earned him annual accolades during his tenure at the hospital.

Ji Long places high value on efficiency without sacrificing results. He continuously seeks the most effective treatment methods, ensuring his interventions allow clients to quickly and safely resume their cherished activities while also having time for other important aspects of their lives.

In addition to his clinical work, Ji Long serves as an adjunct faculty at the Singapore Institute of Technology, where he helps students connect theoretical knowledge with practical application.

In his leisure time, Ji Long enjoys a balanced mix of exercise, outdoor activities, and indoor gaming.
